Monday Market Briefing - 27th June 2022

All markets ended a fair bit lower last week. Analysts talked about the weather -  they are paid to seek out context and explanations for these moves - but some weeks just have more people wanting to sell than to buy – last week felt like one of those. Given that there has been no change in the underlying realities we may now be looking a bit on the cheap side at current prices. ( Who thought we would ever say that about prices way above £200 ! ) We suspect the impact of the extreme heatwave just experienced in Continental Europe is not yet fully in the market and won’t be until the main French harvest progresses further north.

As the trials / breakfast meeting season draws to a close this week, all have been incredibly well attended and a great success. Its such a relief to get out and about again, so much has changed since we last did them.  Don’t forget if you would like to follow up on any if the themes/ideas you saw at those events, or even if you didn’t manage to get there and are wondering what you missed,  your usual Bartholomews contacts are all available and happy to provide additional information and support.

Have a good week.
